This year's SUSK Congress was held online and although we definitely missed getting to see our friends from the other USO's across Canada, our members had a great time getting to network, and learn from the other members of SUSK. We are very grateful to the SUSK Congress committee for organizing such an engaging congress despite the circumstances. SUSK Congress 2021 boasted several exceptional speaker panels; women in leadership, the future of Ukraine, and working towards reconciliation within the Ukrainian community. This congress proved to be very special for our club. It saw the end of our Past-President Chase Gargus' term as Secretary on the SUSK board of directors but it was also a new beginning for another member of our club. Anika Luteijn, the UVicUSS Secretary was elected to the position of VP-West. In this role, she will help to connect the western USO's and create new opportunities for USO members to network across the western provinces. Anika is excited to apply the skills she learned while volunteering with the UVicUSS in executing national initiatives with Ukrainian Canadian Students' Union. We are so proud of both Chase and Anika for their commitment to the broader Ukrainian community and we look forward to working closely with the new SUSK executive in the coming months!
